I own a 2014 A-6 diesel. I am having issues with the MMi system shutting down involuntarily, especially in very cold weather. It shuts down every 2 minutes 3-4 times and after car has run for 20-30 minutes operates normally. Is this an issue affecting just my car or is it something others have had issues with as well. Thanks for your response. I took vehicle into dealer and they did not tell me about this restarting of MMI trick. Hope it works. They want to replace the chip for $3,400. I am reluctant because it works fine when it warms up. I think the unusually cold winter fouled something, (maybe a contact point) what do you think?

I see. But most of the time a system reset normally fix the issue. Also a possibility that due to cold weather some contact point might be affected. But 80% chances that resetting it will fix the issue. Is there anything else I can assist you with Joseph? :)

not until I try the reset option. How do i contact you if that doesnt work? Does anyone else have this issue?

the MMI reset but did not resolve the issue. Puzzling piece to this issue is that after it restarts itself  3-6 times over a 20-30" time span it works fine. Are there any technical bullitens from Audi/VW that addresses this?

One of the issue I can think of is possible a bad control module also. You can advise them also to have this check. Other than that I can't think of anything that causing this issue. Hope you appreciate my assistance.

your probably correct. Service tech suggested a j-794 5f control module. cost $3,400 to replace. Either put up with it or pay to have it corrected. Hoped for a simpler solution. Thx for your help.
